Slit lamp evaluation with fluorescein ophthalmic examination
Our ophthalmology consultations are designed to provide a detailed assessment of your pet’s eyes and surrounding structures. Appointments typically last between 45–60 minutes and are carried out at your own veterinary practice whenever possible, helping your pet remain in a familiar environment.
During the consultation, a thorough eye examination may include:
• A full examination of the eyes and eyelids
• Measurement of eye pressure (tonometry)
• Examination of the front of the eye using specialised magnifying equipment (slit lamp examination)
• Assessment of tear production and tear film quality
• Collection of small samples for on-site testing where required
• Examination of the back of the eye (fundic examination) if indicated
All specialist ophthalmic equipment is brought to the appointment, allowing advanced eye examinations and diagnostics to be performed conveniently within your veterinary practice. Following the consultation, treatment options and ongoing care recommendations will be discussed with you and your veterinary team.
